Privacy Policy

SongBird ("the app") is an unofficial, fan-made Overwatch companion app. This page explains what information the app collects when you create an account, how it's used, and how you can delete it.

What we collect

If you create a SongBird account, we store:

• Your chosen username and password (the password is hashed with bcrypt on our server before storage — we never store or transmit it in plain text)
• Your chosen profile avatar
• Match history you log (heroes played, results, roles)
• Academy learning progress — lessons completed, quiz scores, badges, streaks
• Your friends list and any direct messages you send through the app's Friends feature
• Easter-egg unlocks, competitive rank and main-hero preferences you choose to save
• Any custom calendar events you create

You don't need an account to use most of SongBird — hero guides, counters, maps, and team comps are available without logging in.

How we use it

Everything collected is used solely to run the app's own features — your stats, your Academy progress, your friends list. SongBird does not run ads, does not use analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not sell or share your data with third parties.

Where it's stored

Account data is stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database and is only ever read or written through authenticated, server-side functions — the app's client never has direct database access.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account, along with your match history, Academy progress, friends, and messages, at any time from My Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children's privacy

SongBird is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change too.
